Dead Poet’s Society
As this was a different kind of episode there are not the usual accompanying links.
This is the end of pod activity:
As your commute is coming to an end, here’s something you can take into class. Use the following quote as a dictogloss. Dictogloss is different from a dictation. Instead of trying to write down every word, in dictogloss studens try to reconstruct a short text by listening and noting down key words, which are then used as a basis for reconstruction.
Play the clip once without letting the students write anything. Then play it again. Now let students write down as much as they can remember, comparing with a partner. Now based on want they’ve remembered students try and reconstruct the text. At the end, ask them what they have got and then compare again with the original. Follow up by asking students to discuss the quote, asking them to provide examples of poetry.
